In occasione della serata di Gala organizzata dal “Mattino” per festeggiare i 125 anni dalla fondazione del giornale e i 90 anni dalla morte di Matilde Serao, il presidente de “Il quaderno edizioni” la dott.ssa Stefania Spisto incontra il Ministro della Cultura Dario Franceschini al quale presenta “Cristina” l’opera di Matilde Serao pubblicata da “Il quaderno edizioni”, la cui ultima pubblicazione risale al 1908 e quindi è introvabile nelle librerie ed è possibile leggere solo nelle biblioteche nazionali.
“La cultura italiana vive e si nutre dell’esperienza e dell’impegno dell’associazionismo che raggiunge in modo capillare tutti gli strati della popolazione svolgendo un’importante opera di democratizzazione e valorizzazione dei talenti. I miei complimenti alla dott.ssa Spisto che promuove, che dà voce e valore a scrittori del territorio e alla sua avanguardia letteraria.” Afferma il Ministro.
“Sono lieta di conoscerla e di ascoltare queste parole signor Ministro, ma sento il dovere d’informarla che per chi come noi pratica concretamente questa attività, soprattutto in questo particolare momento storico, vive molto spesso l’esperienza dell’isolamento, dell’indifferenza da parte delle maggiori testate giornalistiche e della frustrazione di sentirsi completamente schiacciati dall’impresa editoriale che gestisce l’intero processo che va dalla distribuzione alla comunicazione, monopolizzando completamente il sistema.”
È il commento amaro della dott.ssa Spisto.
Il cuore dello spettacolo è stato la rappresentazione di un dialogo impossibile tra la Serao e Gurgian interrotto e integrato dalle esibizioni degli altri attori, che hanno proposto testi e musiche di autori contemporanei alla Serao. Hanno reso omaggio “a donna Matilde” le principali autorità istituzionali della Campania, gli intellettuali più autorevoli e i principi e le principessa dell’aristocrazia napoletana.
