DA POMPEI A SORRENTO FINO A BRUXELLES
IL PRESIDENTE DE “IL QUADERNO EDIZIONI” STEFANIA SPISTO PARTECIPERÀ CON IN CONTRIBUTO INTELLETTUALE AL MUSICAL “WEST SIDE STORY” REALIZZATO DALL’UNIVERSITÀ POPOLARE ARTE E MUSICAL DIRETTO DA INA PERNA”.
“Come presidente dell’associazione culturale “Il quaderno edizioni” sono lieta di partecipare e di dare il mio contributo al progetto artistico “Dalla formazione al palcoscenico” ideato dell’Upam di Ina Perna e che porterà in scena il meraviglioso musical “West Side Story” a sessant’anni dalla sua prima rappresentazione americana e che avrà un respiro internazionale.
L’opera prende spunto dalla celebre tragedia di Shakespeare “Romeo e Giulietta e tratta dell’amore tra due giovani: Tony e Maria, un amore contrastato perché i protagonisti appartengono a bande giovanili rivali che si contendono il territorio del West Side, un quartiere popolare di New York. I Jets, bianchi, capeggiati da Riff e gli Squali, portoricani, il cui capo è Bernardo il fratello di Maria. In questo contesto il mio intervento sarà quello di fornire lo sfondo di riflessione culturale e sociale alle diverse chiavi di lettura e ai diversi temi che offre il musical: dalla diversità razziale alla violenza giovanile, dall’amore come slancio vitale a quello dell’amore che soccombe al male e all’odio.
Ne parleremo insieme il 19 e il 20 luglio a Pompei, il 21 a Sorrento e poi il 15-16-17 settembre a Brussels partendo dai dati attuali della violenza e della criminalità giovanile, sempre più in aumento, dalle riflessioni di Roberto Saviano tratte dal suo libro “La paranza dei bambini” e proveremo a trovare delle soluzioni proprio concretizzando i sogni dei nostri ragazzi. I giovani hanno una straordinaria energia che se indirizzata verso la coltivazione dei sogni, dell’impegno e della cultura, allora saranno in grado produrre bellezza e quindi un mondo migliore, altrimenti i comportamenti devianti giovanili e le brutture aumenteranno sempre più. Questo non è un problema che riguarda solo i giovani o le loro famiglie, ma riguarda tutta la società e quindi tutti hanno il dovere di operarsi in questo senso.
Sono certa che lo spettacolo dei ragazzi dell’UPAM ci emozionerà, conosco bene la direzione artista di Ina Perna, una professionista di altissimo valore, non solo per le numerose attività culturali che negli ultimi anni abbiamo condiviso, ma anche perché, mi permetto di vantarmi, di essere stata da ragazzina una sua allieva ed è anche grazie a lei se oggi sono una donna impegnata e stimata nella società.” dott.ssa Stefania Spisto

This is not a problem that concerns only young people or their families, but it is about the whole society and therefore everyone has a duty to do so.
