STEFANIA SPISTO: “LE ROSE E LA LETTERATURA SONO GLI STRUMENTI DELLA NOSTRA RIVOLUZIONE CULTURALE.”
Incontriamo la dott.ssa Stefania Spisto, presidente de “Il quaderno edizioni” ad una delle presentazioni del libro “Cristina” di Matilde Serao, l’opera di cui è la curatrice. Questo libro non viene pubblicato dal 1908 e “Il quaderno edizioni” ha deciso di ripubblicarlo quest’anno per rendere omaggio all’autrice in occasione dei novanta anni dalla sua morte.
“Il quaderno edizioni” è un’associazione senza scopo di lucro che ha come obiettivo quello di promuovere e diffondere la cultura del mezzogiorno nel mondo e da quasi una decina d’anni si occupa di pubblicare testi di scrittori che hanno la peculiarità di avere un forte legame con il territorio e che lo valorizzano con le loro opere.
D: Tra le tante opere di Matilde Serao perché ha scelto di pubblicare “Cristina”?
R: Ho scelto di pubblicare questo testo per diverse ragioni: la prima è perché è una di quelle che si conosce meno, dato che la sua ultima stampa risale a più di cento anni fa, poi perché i due bozzetti che contiene raccontano di storie di donne e della loro condizione del tempo e infine perché in un solo libro è possibile osservare i due aspetti dell’anima letteraria dell’autrice che spazia dalla corrente verista a quella psicologica e introspettiva.
D: Parliamo un po’ di letteratura. Come associazione culturale quanto spazio le date alla letteratura e perché è importante per voi? R: Alle letteratura diamo tutto lo spazio possibile, anzi direi che è la nostra priorità e per tante ragioni. Chi studia letteratura, sa che dietro ad un semplice intreccio si celano interpretazioni, messaggi e sfumature che alla prima lettura inesperta non si riescono a cogliere. La letteratura allena la mente a guardare oltre l’apparenza, e a interrogarsi, un esercizio sano per la nostra mente e poi ci insegna che nulla è impossibile: annulla i nostri limiti, le possibilità si moltiplicano e ci permette di viaggiare, conoscere ogni singola parte dell’universo senza muoverci dal divano di casa nostra. La letteratura parla di noi, anche quando ci sembra lontanissima e quindi ci insegna a vivere anche perché l’umano e le relazioni interpersonali costituiscono il più delle volte l’intreccio principale. Ci dà ispirazione e fa nascere tutta una serie di sentimenti: mi è capitato spesso di piangere o commuovermi alla fine di un libro. A volte vogliamo rileggere un’opera. Altre non ricordiamo la trama del libro che abbiamo letto, ma solo la sensazione che ha lasciato dentro di noi. Magia pura.
Per questo credo che la letteratura possa cambiare in meglio questo mondo perché davanti ad un’opera che ci emoziona il nostro spirito si meraviglia e quindi cambia, si eleva, cresce, come davanti allo spettacolo della natura, come davanti ad una rosa.
Sì credo che le rose e la letteratura possano cambiare il mondo: uno è il meglio di Dio, l’altro il meglio dell’uomo e credere in questo principio, battersi per questo principio è la vera rivoluzione in cui possiamo sperare.
